On December 1, 2010, the Colorado Space Business Roundtable (CSBR) and the Colorado Space Coalition (CSC) teamed up to present the eighth annual Colorado Space Roundup. The Roundup is the premier all-Colorado space industry update and networking event. It is the place to catch up on the latest Colorado space news and connect with leaders from business, government and education. The daylong event treated attendees to four informative panels, an inspiring keynote address and plenty of networking time. The day’s panels focused as follows: • The future workforce panel featured project presentations by engineering students from four Colorado colleges and universities. • Staffers representing each member of the Colorado congressional delegation briefed the group on the latest space-related conversations in Washington D.C. • The economic development panel highlighted how Colorado and other states encourage aerospace industry growth. • Colorado’s aerospace prime contractors discussed the realities of doing business in today’s uncertain environment. Jim Crocker, Vice President & GM, Lockheed Martin Sensing & Exploration Systems, delivered a rousing luncheon keynote address in which he advocated for a clear national space policy aimed at maintaining the country’s leadership in space exploration. Platinum sponsor, Lockheed Martin, gold sponsor, Boeing Company and silver sponsor, United Launch Alliance led the list of Roundup supporters along with bronze sponsors Raytheon, Sierra Nevada, ITT, Northrop Grumman and the Space Foundation.
